The governor of the Argentine province of Mendoza, Rodolfo Suarez, inaugurated the Santa Rosa Solar Park accompanied by other authorities. The project, built entirely with Mendocan labor, injects energy into the national grid.
It features 16 hectares and 20,000 panels and is located on the El Marcado estate, a desert plot with an open horizon. The local company Energe was responsible for building the project under the Mendoza Government's Fiscal Bond II, on the condition of hiring local labor.
Technical data of the project
The project has an installed capacity of 6.6 MW nominal and 5.3 MW of effective generation. It was the largest solar park in Mendoza at the time of its inauguration.
The construction of the park began in 2018, and it entered commercial operation in February 2020. In 2019, the PASIP solar park, located in Palmira, had gone into operation, featuring more than 4,000 panels generating 1.5 MW of installed capacity. With Santa Rosa, Energe added the largest park in the region.
