Governor Rodolfo Suarez inaugurated the Santa Rosa Solar Park, built entirely by the Mendocan company Energe. It spans 16 hectares and features 20,000 panels that inject energy into the national grid.

Governor Rodolfo Suarez, Vice Governor Mario Abed, and Minister of Economy and Energy Enrique Vaquie inaugurated the Santa Rosa Solar Park. Also present were Secretary of Government Leonardo Saile and Director of Public Works Raul Manrique, along with the businesspeople involved in the development.

This project is entirely made with Mendocan labor, and its job is to inject energy into the national grid. It spans 16 hectares and features 20,000 panels located in the El Marcado estate, a desert plot with an open horizon, free of trees or mountains that block solar radiation.

The Governor's words

During the tour, the Governor highlighted: "This work is very important for all Mendocans. These are 20,000 solar panels over 16 hectares that generate substantial energy for more than 5,000 families. It generates clean and renewable energy; the world is moving in that direction, and it's happening right here despite the difficult times of the pandemic."

"There was a state contribution through the Fiscal Bond II, and together we pushed this project forward," the Governor added.

Energe's role

The Mendocan company Energe was responsible for executing this ambitious project under the Fiscal Bond II, which the Government of Mendoza launched through the Ministry of Economy and Energy to encourage the initiatives of local small and medium-sized enterprises. The condition of the bond was to hire local labor, a goal that was successfully met.

Fernando Formento, entrepreneur and one of the project's leaders, explained: "The park's construction began in 2018, and it went into commercial operation in February 2020. It is currently the largest in Mendoza. It has an installed nominal capacity of 6.6 MW and a generation capacity of 5.3 MW. These are 16 hectares of fully automated panels that supply power to the Argentine national interconnected system."
